ANNI

Hi eberybody! Since I am jest a wittle tzu giwl, I am gonna wet mine momma types for me as I dictate to her for the west of mine storee....
Ch. Ista's Wicked Dreams x Ch. Wood-Sings Jasmin had a litter of the cutest pups on May 6th, 2002 -- this is the story of one of those pups.
I have famous parents - Cody and Jasmin; I have a litter sister (Mira) who would become famous too; I knew I'd not be famous like them, but because of having the "thumbprint of Buddha", I did feel I was going to have a special life.
For many years, Siddhartha traveled throughout India with a joyful little dog at his side. One day, several robbers surrounded the Buddha intending to rob and murder him. Suddenly the affectionate little companion shape-shifted into a roaring lion, so large and ferocious that the frightened men fled in all directions. Instantly the great lion became the fun loving traveling companion. Buddha picked up his small friend, kissed, petted, praised, and blessed him for his loyalty and courage.
It is believed to-this-day that Shih Tzu are blessed by Buddha. A different color spot on the forehead is the place where Buddha bent down and placed a kiss. A flash of white on the forehead is the place where he laid his finger in blessing, as the noble puppies and ancestors of the Buddha's own Little Lion, parade past him, proudly preparing for birth.

As I grew, my nursery mom, Rob, would send baby pictures to a computer list she was on. One person in particular on the list was quite smitten with us babies, but just quietly sat back, wishing sooooooo much she could adopt one of us as HER baby, never dreaming it might be able to happen........until one day she just HAD to say something to Rob - who was glad to let this woman know that after being on the same computer list for as long as they had been, she felt one of her babies would do well in her home in Byron, Illinois - but which baby did her and her family want?
THAT was a hard question for the list person, Laura - because even though Mira was the one to go on and become a Champion -- she thought we were all cuties!! So to try and help her make the decision, Rob took video of us babies, so Laura could see what our personalities were like. And we had such fun - jumping, running, sliding, pestering Rob, playing - just so much fun!!! After watching the video several times, Laura felt she knew which of us SHE liked best -- but, because there were 2 human 'pups' and her husband, she felt they should have input into this very important decision. So they also watched the video - one at a time, and then all of them together. Turns out every one of them liked the same puppy -- ME!!!!!

Then the REAL hard part came - waiting to learn my name!!!! My adopting family put a LOT of time into thinking of a name, trying different ones out. In the meantime, Rob and Laura (my adoptive mom) made plans for her and her husband, my adoptive dad, Richard - to come out and get me -- I was gonna FLY with them!!!!!!!
I don't remember how long it took, I think forever, well, almost, but finally I got my name: (Rolar's) Anniversary Kiss - Anni for short!!!!!!! They decided on that name because my new parents were coming to get me when it was their Anniversary (and I think they like to kiss.....they didn't explain THAT part of my name to me), they didn't know yet that I just LOVE giving kisses, esp. my mom's left ear. Yep, that is the bestest!!!
They wanted to try to make my leaving my nursery home as easy on me as they could, so mom sent us 'Jasmin pups' a toy -- the UGLIEST rooster!!!! She didn't know it would be so ugly, or so big for baby tzu puppies!!!! Oh, hold on, I gotta go tell my mom I love her.
Back to my story: So the end of August, 2002, my adoptive parents came and got me - my adopting mom was so nervous I wouldn't like her, so right after she picked me up, I started kissing her - and that made her feel so good!!!!! Of COURSE I liked her!!!! Plus, this made her feel like they had picked the perfect name for me - Anniversary Kiss!!!!!
 | My new mom is trying very hard to hold back the tears!
I was the perfect little tzu on the plane, the people didn't even know I was sitting behind them - that is how good I was!!!!
I had fun with my big sister Sarah Roo the tzu and big brother Cade, he's also a tzu. I am a smart little girl, so I knew Sarah was queen of the house, and I didn't pester her. She was older and going blind. But Cade, the big brother who is sometimes a bother.....I pestered him - and I still do too!!!!!
He is fun to play with!!!!!

Life has been good with my new mom and dad. We lived in Byron, Illinios for 8 years. And in that time mom took me to several obedience classes and I did so good I got to skip a level and move right up to Intermediate!!! I showed them, I might be blonde and I might be cute - but I was pretty smart too!!! The instructors all liked me and my waggedy tail - mom nicknamed me Waggedy Anni - and still sometimes she calls me that!!! And going to school was FUN - and, I got to go to Small Dog Camp in Iowa, August 2003. I got to do obedience, agility and even tracking! Tracking is FUN, even when you don't have a long nose!!!!! And momma said when I ran in agility, I looked beautiful. I dunno about that, but sure was FUN, FUN, FUN!!!!! I sometimes still practice the tracking stuff when I get taken outside. (BOL) (oh, that means Barking Out Loud)
 | The Irish Wolfhound was my favorite buddy at class!

 |
 | This is when we were at Gerianne Darnell's Small Dog Obedience Camp, in Council Bluffs, Iowa in August of 2004. We did obedience; I got to run thru the yellow tube and get a treat; and I got to fly thru the air - look how high I can jump!!
Another special thing that has happened to me was during the time my mom was getting cute bows, she met a woman - and that woman, who lived in Vegas, asked mom if she could send her pictures of me wearing one of her bows - so she could print out my picture and have it for a banner for her sales table at craft shows!!! So that means I've been a Vegas Show Girl!!!!!

So, because I had lots of fun as a baby tzu and learned that having a "happy tail" made humans smile; and as an adopted tzu in learning a good girl tzu does NOT play with toilet paper (my now mom is so cool, all she did was laugh and take pictures of me and the toilet paper incident); and all the times I picked on my big brother; because of the fun I had learning obedience - in class and at camp; because a gal on that list made me the most special bedding for one of my dog beds; AND, because I just LOVE headgiehog babies to carry around and play with (I have 5) -- my "theme song" has been, and still is: Girl Just Wanna Have Fun!!!!!!
 | uh oh, look how the toilet paper is trying to get me in trouble......I'll try to spit it out my mouth quick......
Before I finish my story, I want to quick share a couple of fun things that have happened since I left my littermates is that I've flown again - to Atlanta, Georgia while we lived there a few months because of daddy's work - and one of their human kids had her husband make me and Cade a beautiful doggie armoire to hold our outfits and bows - not every tzu has one of these!!! And we sure do need the armoire - you should see all the pretty things mom has gotten for me to play dress up in!!!!! I have a cowgirl outfit; a sun dress with matching bonnet; a pearl necklace; one favorite t-shirt of mine is a black one, and in rhinestones it says: wags, wags, wags!!!!! I also have winter sweaters and pajamas!!!
I also have a beautiful handmade bed.
 | My new dog armoire that Tracy Derr from Leesburg, Florida made for me and my brothers clothes - the drawer is for all our bows. And I just LOVE the black t-shirt - it says "wags, wags, wags"!!!
 | This is my special doggie bed. It is VERY comfortable!!
I love this spring dress with coordinating hat!
| | What little tzu girl wouldn't love wearing this polka-dotted dress?!
One of my favorite outfits cause my brother and i go together! don't we make cute rootin' tootin' cowkids?!!
|
And we just moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. And this house has a few windows that come down to the floor, and those are a favorite place to watch things going on outside and to watch mom and dad come home. Another favorite place is out in the sun room - laying in the sunbeams, getting a tan!!
Cade and Anni watching for mom and dad.

I'm not pitiful looking, just waiting for mommy.
Now you see how having the thumbprint of Buddha really does mean you are special!!!!!
