MIRA'S BABIES

After Mira finished her show career, we looked forward to breeding her.  When she came in season, we sent her up to Canada to be bred to the #1 stud dog in the country, Ch. Wenrick's Hollywood Hit, "Woody".  She flew up in a plane, all by herself, stayed at their house for 2 weeks while she was bred, and came home.  She never did get pregnant, but she went through a false pregnancy, and we were so disappointed in finding out she had no babies.  A year later, she came in season again, and this time, Woody was out here locally, so I spent 2 weeks living in the motorhome near where Woody was, having Mira bred again.  This time, she got pregnant, and we were so overjoyed!  She was bred on Valentines Day, when love is in the air.  She was due on Easter Sunday.  The Miracle Baby from heaven was having Easter babies.  Easter morning she started labor, and then stopped.  I had no idea she was really in labor, thinking she was uncomfortable and stretching.  My friend told me she was and to get her to the vet, since it had been about 4 hours since her last contraction.  Our vet tried to get his little finger inside her, and she screamed out with pain.  He said her birth canal is so small, she could not have these babies herself, and never will.  So I decided to have her spay while she was having a c-section to deliver the babies.  I was so stressed over everything, Mira having a c-section and being spay, never to have another baby ever again.  The first one out was a girl, but she had no heartbeat, she was dark purple and not breathing and the vet said he did not think she had a chance to survive.  I worked on her for what seemed like hours, and finally she moved an arm, opened her mouth, and started breathing.  She never cried, but the purple started to go away.  She is a miracle baby from the miracle baby.  The boy was the second one out, and he had a hard time getting his life started, but he finally pinked up and cried out.  The way I look at everything, is, there was a reason why Mira never became pregnant the first time, but I questioned WHY, and tried again to breed her.  Well, I found out why, that she was not meant to have babies, but I was given these 2 babies, that possibly may not have lived, on Easter Sunday.  God blessed us with wonderful miracles.  Now you can watch them grow into beautiful, miracle kids.
